Roanoke-Benson High School, located in Roanoke, Illinois, is 25 miles east of Peoria on Route 116 and 30 miles northwest of Bloomington-Normal. Roanoke-Benson High School serves the communities of Roanoke, Benson, and the surrounding rural area. As of December 2004, the school had an enrollment of 182 students and 27 faculty and staff members.

As one of the premiere small high schools in the state of Illinois, Roanoke-Benson High School offers an outstanding college preparatory curriculum, including Advanced Placement courses. Students also have access to a wide variety of electives, including agriculture, art, business education, home economics, industrial technology, and instrumental and vocal music. There are over 80 courses available to students at Roanoke-Benson High School. Also, the Community Service Program is a unique opportunity that allows students who volunteer at least 100 hours the chance to earn one-half credit towards graduation.

Sowers Elementary School is located in Roanoke, Illinois. It serves the Pre-K through 4th grade students in the communities of Roanoke and Benson. Roanoke is located 25 miles east of Peoria on Route 116 and 30 miles northwest of Bloomington-Normal. As of September 2006, the school had an enrollment of 230 students.

Sowers Elementary offers a very comprehensive curriculum that is designed to meet the needs of all learners. Students are challenged and monitored for progress by a very caring faculty. Students at Sowers benefit from being adjacent to the high school. Many high school students volunteer at Sowers to listen to students read, help with homework, or help in the classrooms. The teachers at Sowers work hard to ensure that all students become life-long learners.
