UPDATE: Chicago Columbus Day Parade

Dear Band Parents & Students,

After consulting with Mr. Tresnak, we feel it is in the best interest of the students to cancel our performance in the Chicago Columbus Day Parade. The forecast has been consistently predicting heavy thunderstorms during the parade. By making the call now, we are allowing students and families to make alternate plans for the three day weekend. This is the first time I have ever called a parade prior to the day of the event.

The RBHS Marching Band will perform at the RBHS Variety Show on Friday, October 24 and will again lead the Sowers Elementary Students on Red Ribbon Week “Say No to Drugs” parade on Monday, October 27.

Saturday, October 4
ISU Homecoming Parade

8:00 AM Arrive at RBHS & change into uniforms
8:15 Load up
8:30 Leave for ISU
10:00 Parade starts (map)
12:00 PM Arrive back to RBHS

Monday, October 13
Chicago Columbus Day
7:45AM Arrive at RBHS
8:00 Load, leave for Chicago
Stop for breakfast & change into uniform (McDonald’s – bring $)
12:30 Parade starts
Stop at the Joliet Mall for dinner
6:00 Arrive back to RBHS

Marching Band Camp!

Dear Parents & Students:

School is fast approaching.  I’m excited to start the school year.  I will need to meet with the percussion section on Monday, August 18Tuesday, August 19 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.  If you ARE a member of the percussion section, please complete the online formhttp://goo.gl/MO84p4 indicating your preference on which drum you would like to play.

Freshmen band members will need to meet on Tuesday, August 19 from 7:30 to 8:30 PM.  Freshmen do not bring any instruments to school on August 19.  We will just be learning marching band commands.

All marching band camp rehearsals will be held in the new RBHS Band Room!

If you are sophomore, junior, or senior band member and NOT a member of the percussion section but would like to play in the percussion section during marching band, please complete the online form http://goo.gl/MO84p4. Please complete the online form even if you have played in the marching percussion section in the past.

Freshmen, If you are unable to attend on Tuesday, August 19, please have one of your parents email.
