On Monday, August 21,at 7:00 p.m. the school boards of Roanoke-Benson #60 and Congerville-Eureka-Goodfield #140 will hold a joint school board meeting in the Eureka High School Auditorium. The purpose of the meeting is to consider whether the two districts should engage in a school consolidation study. Information about the meeting can be found in the link below.
The Roanoke Benson CUSD #60 School Board is currently seeking candidates to fill one open school board position. The position will be filled no later than July 30, 2017 and will continue until the April 2019 Consolidated Election. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen of 18 years of age or older, a resident of the school district residing in Roanoke, Clayton, Linn, or Greene Township for at least one year prior to appointment, and not have a financial or legal conflict of interest with the district as defined by the Illinois School Code. The 8th Grade Boys Basketball team will be playing in the IESA State Basketball tournament on Thursday, Feb. 16. Due to this conflict, the regularly scheduled school board meeting is rescheduled and will take place on Monday, February 20, 2017 and will be held in the SES Conference room at 7:00 p.m.
