Week of October 1st

Dismissal is at 11:30am on Friday, October 5th.

Math Packets:  I will be sending home the next math packet on Monday.  The children are doing so well with addition, so I am switching to subtraction.  I will be testing both addition and subtraction every week.  The goal is to finish the sheet of 80 problems under 4 minutes.

We are starting a new unit in science.  This unit is on forces, and using magnets.  We will be working in the unit for the month of October and possibly the first week in November. Here are a list of items we need to complete each mystery lesson:

empty food boxes (cereal, granola bars, crackers, etc.)

different lengths and thicknesses of rubber bands

clear wide tape (several rolls)

One cardboard piece 12″x16″

Several one inch cardboard squares

Sand paper (3-4 sheets)

styrofoam squares (any size)

plastic buttons and/or bottle caps

metal pieces ( approximately sizes bottle caps)

magnetic rings and other small magnets (not decorative ones) ( I will be happy to return these)

If you can help with any of the above items, please just send them in with your child over the next couple of weeks.  I will let you know if/when I no longer need any of these items. Thanks so much for helping us out!

If you have not confirmed your P/T Conference time with me, please do so.  I will send reminders out with the report cards.  The report cards do not need to be returned.
