greeting (noun): saying hello; a polite word of welcome

In English, there are so many ways to say “hello!”  In fact, there are usually several ways to say almost anything.  Our language is not only complex, but also fluid, constantly changing and growing to suit our needs.  Language is an important part of how we communicate.  It’s how we share ideas, build relationships, and learn about everything and anything in our world.

It’s pretty important to be good at it.
