The annual Walking for Amy event will take place on June 25th, 2022, at the Roanoke Park. Every year, Dave and Barb Schwind hold this event in honor of their daughter to raise funds for the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. "Mr. Dave" was a long-time custodian and bus driver for Sowers Elementary, and Barb continues to serve as a substitute teacher within the district.
